New Postdoc: Ayçin Aykutalp

Ayçin Aykutalp joins the CRA this week as a TCAN postdoc. She is broadly interested in the formation and growth of supermassive black holes, and recently she has worked on their initial growth from  massive seeds. In particular, she is currently studying the effects of UV and X-ray radiative feedback on nuclear star formation in the first epochs of star formation around these massive black hole seeds. She is arriving from SNS in Pisa, Italy, where she was a postdoctoral researcher working with Andrea Ferrara. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Groningen in 2012 under the supervision of Marco Spaans.
