I work at the intersection of computational astrophysics and machine learning, with the goal of using AI techniques to enhance and accelerate cosmological simulations and other computational tasks. My thesis work is in using a convolutional recurrent network to emulate the physics of stellar feedback in cosmological simulations, with a focus on first- and second-generation stars. Overall, I’m interested in cosmology and galaxy formation, the physics and observational signatures of active galactic nuclei, simulations and modeling, and the implementation of AI/ML techniques in scientific applications.
